Research Training


Pre-conference Workshop: Multimedia Adult English Learner Corpus (MAELC).  Space is limited to first 20 participants. Fees cover lunch and materials. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, 9:30am – 2:30pm


Special Events


Tour of San Francisco’s Chinatown district, including the Chinatown campus, City College of San Francisco. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, 3:00pm – 5:00pm


Neighborhood walk and guided tour of the Mission District murals.  Thursday, August 8, 2013, 4:00pm-5:30pm


Screening of documentary film, Maestra, and discussion with Dr. Norma Guillard, a literacy teacher during the 1961 Cuban Literacy Campaign. Space is limited so please register! Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, 7:00pm – 9:00pm


Latin Salsa Club Tour on the Mexican Bus. Cost covers all cover charges into prearranged clubs and a small gratuity for your host and driver. Saturday, August 10, 2013. Time: After dinner, exact time tba



Refunds due to cancellation will be processed as follows:

By July 15, 2013 Full refund conference registration fees. A US $25 processing fee will be deducted from the registration fees paid.
Beginning July 16, 2013 No refund of conference fees due to cancellation

Only written cancellations will be considered.  Please email Fees for optional activities and events (MAELC Training, Chinatown tour, Mission District mural walk, Salsa night) are not refundable.
